Why Cosmir?
Online, astrology mostly lives at two extremes: either five-second, one-size-fits-all “you're lucky today” texts written for no one in particular, or a scary claim to certainty — “don't sign anything until this transit passes.” Neither is for us. A birth chart is not a fortune-telling device; it is a poetic and surprisingly useful way to look at yourself from the outside. That's why we built Cosmir.
Calculation, not prediction
Every degree you see comes from real celestial mechanics. We compute planetary positions with the Swiss Ephemeris— the professional astrologer's standard — and house divisions with the Placidus system. The Moon degree you see on the wheel is the very Moon you would find if you pointed a telescope at the sky that moment. The interpretation layer is interpretation — and we never hide that.
What we believe
- A chart is a map of possibilities, not fate.We don't tell you what will happen; we read together what something might feel like, and how. The decisions are always yours.
- If it's uncertain, we say so.If you don't know your birth time, we won't invent your rising sign — in the app we narrow it down step by step alongside your life events (rectification).
- Your data is yours. Your birth details are used only to compute and interpret your chart; never sold, never shared. The details are in our privacy policy.
- Warm voice, cold math. The more rigorous the mathematics, the more human the telling should be. We write to “you,” not to a “user.”
Where we're headed
The web calculator is the beginning: it draws your chart in seconds, no sign-up required. The whole observatory lives in the Cosmir app — AI readings written like a letter to your chart, your personal daily sky, synastry that places two charts side by side, and the rectification where we find your birth time together.
